Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Sortiary LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information in connection with our legal recruiting services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with transparency.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information from Public Sources
We collect professional information that is publicly available, including:
- Attorney biographies published on law firm websites
- Bar admission records from state bar associations
- Professional profiles available through public directories
- Published case or transaction information
This information is used to identify attorneys who may be well-suited for lateral opportunities. We do not access any non-public systems or databases to obtain this information.
1.2 Information You Provide
When you engage with Sortiary, you may provide:
- Contact information (name, email address, phone number)
- Professional background (resume, deal sheet, practice area details)
- Career preferences (geographic preferences, compensation expectations, practice focus)
- Any other information you choose to share during our engagement
1.3 Information from Automated Processing
Our services use artificial intelligence to process certain information:
- Profile analysis: AI models extract structured data (practice area, class year, representative matters) from publicly available attorney biographies
- Qualification conversations: If you engage with our AI-assisted qualification process, conversation content is processed to assess career goals and opportunity fit
- Matching: AI-generated compatibility assessments between candidate profiles and firm requirements
1.4 Website Information
When you visit sortiary.com, we may collect standard web analytics data including page views, referring URLs, and device information through cookies or similar technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Identify candidates who may be qualified for lateral opportunities
- Match candidates with relevant positions at hiring firms
- Conduct qualification conversations to assess interest and fit
- Prepare submission packages for hiring firms (only with your consent)
- Communicate with you about opportunities and our services
- Improve our AI models and matching accuracy
- Comply with legal obligations
3. AI Processing Disclosure
Sortiary is an AI-native recruiting firm. Artificial intelligence is central to our operations:
- What AI does: Our AI models analyze publicly available attorney profiles, conduct structured qualification conversations, generate candidate summaries, and assess opportunity fit.
- What AI does not do: AI does not make final decisions about candidate submissions. Every submission package is reviewed by a human before delivery to a hiring firm.
- Your data and AI: If you participate in an AI-assisted conversation, the content of that conversation is processed by large language models hosted by our AI infrastructure providers. We do not use your personal data to train or fine-tune AI models.
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 With Hiring Firms
We share candidate information with hiring firms only with your explicit consent. Before any submission, you will know the identity of the hiring firm and approve the specific information being shared.
4.2 With Service Providers
We use third-party service providers to operate our platform, including:
- Cloud infrastructure (database hosting, application hosting)
- AI processing (large language model APIs)
- Communication platforms (for candidate engagement)
These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your information.
For details on how we obtain and manage consent for text and WhatsApp messaging, see our Messaging Consent Disclosure.
4.3 We Do Not Sell Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
